India Shines with Five Medals at 2025 FEI Asian Equestrian Championships

The second edition of the FEI Asian Equestrian Championships 2025 was held in Pattaya, Thailand, from November 24 to December 7, 2025. The event brought together over 80 riders from 13 countries, showcasing top-level equestrian skills across disciplines like Jumping, Dressage, Eventing, Para Dressage, and Endurance.

FEI Asian Equestrian Championships 2025

Organised by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), the Asian Equestrian Championships are held once every two years. After the inaugural edition in 2019, the 2025 event marked the second championship. The venue for this year was the Thai Polo and Equestrian Club in Pattaya, Thailand.

Medal Tally Highlights

Thailand emerged as the top country with 7 medals (3 gold, 0 silver, 4 bronze), closely followed by Hong Kong with 7 medals (0 gold, 2 silver, 5 bronze). India performed strongly, winning 5 medals in total (1 gold, 4 silver). Other top performers included Singapore with 5 medals and China with 2.

India’s Outstanding Performance

India’s equestrian team made a remarkable mark at the championship:

  • Individual Gold: Ashish Limaye became the first Indian rider to win gold in Eventing at the Asian Championships.
  • Team Silver: The Indian team comprising Ashish Limaye, Shashank Singh Kataria, and Shashank Kanmuri won silver.
  • Dressage Success: Shruti Vora won three silver medals in Individual Dressage, Intermediate Freestyle–I, and Team Dressage with Divyakriti Singh and Gaurav Pundir.

The Indian delegation included six athletes, six grooms, two coaches, one veterinary doctor, and one farrier, highlighting a well-supported team.

Government Support for Equestrian Athletes

On 5th December 2025, Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports felicitated the Indian equestrian team in New Delhi for their outstanding achievements. This gesture recognized the growing importance of equestrian sports in India.
