Indian Railways and DMRC Sign MoU for Automatic Wheel Profile Measurement Systems

On April 4, 2025, Indian Railways signed an important agreement with the Delhi Metro Rail Cooperation (DMRC). The goal is to install smart machines called Automatic Wheel Profile Measurement Systems (AWPMS) to check train wheels quickly and safely. What is AWPMS?

AWPMS stands for Automatic Wheel Profile Measurement System. It is a new and advanced machine that checks the shape and condition of train wheels.
