India naval strengthen to be boost by the delivery of the INS Malwan. It is the next-generation anti-submarine warfare vessel delivered the March 31, 2026 in Kochi. It was built domestically with over the 80% of the indigenous content and warship is designed to protect the India’s coastline from the underwater threats. INS Malwan highlights the country’s growing focus on the self-reliance in defense and to secure the maritime boundaries.

The induction of INS Malwan into the Indian navy is the second addition to the planned fleet of eight Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Crafts (ASW SWC) which are to be made for them.
It was constructed by the Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kochi and the vessel reflects the Indian push towards the Aatmanirbhar Bharat in defense manufacturing.
Also it is designed under the global classification standards also meeting the specific naval requirements.
This project is aims to replace the ageing the Abhay-class corvettes and thats why its important to upgrade the country’s’ coastal defense infrastructure.
