The Union Government has appointed Satya Pal Kumar, a 2005 batch IRS officer belonging to the Income Tax cadre, as the new Director of the FIU (Financial Intelligence Unit). The announcement was part of a major bureaucratic reshuffle, with the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) formally approving the postings of as many as 20 senior officers in various ministries and departments.

Satya Pal Kumar is an officer of the Indian Revenue Service, 2005 batch and has been designated as the Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit of India.
