Karnataka Prasoothi Araike Yojana is a welfare scheme initiated by the government of Karnataka for mothers and expecting mothers belonging to poor families. It was launched in the year 2007 and is carried out by the Department of Women and Child Development. The scheme is meant for providing the necessary financial help during post-natal treatment of mothers undergoing the pain of childbirth.
The eligible women belonging to BPL category and those coming from SC/ST families are given cash assistance up to Rs.3000 through two instalments. The scheme forms a part of the Samagra Mathru Aarogya Palane scheme and aims at providing the necessary help to women for safe delivery of their children and reducing their financial burden.

Disbursement in Two Parts
Financial help under Karnataka Prasoothi Araike Scheme is paid out in two parts.
