In a significant policy move, NITI Aayog has released a report titled “Designing a Policy for Medium Enterprises”, presenting a strategic blueprint for harnessing the growth potential of India’s medium enterprises. Though forming just 0.3% of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, these enterprises contribute nearly 40% of MSME exports, revealing immense untapped capacity. The report proposes tailored policy interventions in finance, technology, skill development, infrastructure, and digital support to empower medium enterprises as drivers of innovation, employment, and export-led growth, aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

The report was officially launched by NITI Aayog on 26 May 2025, in the presence of Vice Chairman Shri Suman Bery and Members Dr. V.K. Saraswat and Dr. Arvind Virmani.
