The second edition of ‘SemiconIndia 2023’ in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel. Organized by the India Semiconductor Mission in collaboration with various industry associations and under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, this event is scheduled from 25th to 30th July.
Its primary aim is to showcase India’s remarkable progress in becoming a prominent global player in Semiconductor Design, Manufacturing, and Technology Development, in alignment with the vision of the India Semiconductor Mission.
SemiconIndia 2023: Major Investments and Global Participation
SemiconIndia 2023 anticipates significant involvement from leading semiconductor giants such as Micron Technology and Applied Materials, both of whom have recently made substantial investment commitments in India’s semiconductor ecosystem. Micron Technology, is investing $825 million in a semiconductor assembly and test plant based in Gujarat, while Applied Materials is dedicating $400 million to their Engineering Collaborative Centre.
This prestigious event will draw participation from 23 countries and various states, including prominent stalls from Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. These displays reflect the collaborative efforts of state governments in bolstering the growth of the semiconductor industry.
Semicon India 2023: A Showcase of Leading Companies and Innovative Startups
The exhibition features an impressive array of 150 stalls, representing 80 renowned companies, all set to showcase their cutting-edge innovations and products. These companies span the entire spectrum of semiconductors, encompassing supply chain solutions, global Integrated Device Manufacturers, as well as prominent domestic players.
Moreover, the event will also host 25 dynamic startups, offering them a platform to present their own groundbreaking innovations and foster valuable connections with industry leaders.

About India Semiconductor Mission (ISM)
The ISM was launched in 2021 with aim to build a vibrant semiconductor and display ecosystem to enable India’s emergence as a global hub for electronics manufacturing and design. The programme aims to provide financial support to companies investing in semiconductors, display manufacturing and design ecosystem.
