‘Laadli Behna’ scheme launched in Madhya Pradesh
Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, unveiled the “Laadli Behna” Yojana, under which qualified women will get 1,000 rupees every month in support. On March 5, the chief minister’s 65th birthday, the procedure for accepting applications for the benefit programme started.

CM Chouhan, who announced the programme at a large celebration at Jamboree Maidan in Bhopal, asked women to use the money they received via the programme to improve their families. One crore women in the state are the target of the government’s efforts, for which the Union Budget 2023 has a provision of 8,000 crore.
‘Laadli Behna’ scheme: Key Points
- Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s Laadli Behna Yojana, his signature programme, will provide qualified state women with $1,000 in aid each month.
- The programme launched, and beneficiaries have until April 30 to submit applications.
- The benefits of the programme will begin on June 10 when the final beneficiary list is issued on May 31.
- Every month on the 10th, the money will be credited to the accounts.
- Laadli Behna Yojana benefits women between the ages of 23 and 60 who own less than 5 acres of land or make less than 2.5 lakhs annually.
‘Laadli Behna’ scheme: How to Apply?
- To apply for the Laadli Bahna Yojana, applicants are not need to present an income certificate or proof of local residency.
- The Aadhar card and Samagra ID will be the only documents needed, the Vidisha District Collector said via his Twitter account.
- On Twitter, CM Chouhan posted a video outlining the Laadli Behna application process.
- He stated that there is no need for the ladies to travel anywhere because a team of employees will visit each village and ward in the state and assist the women in filling out the form.
