Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced the launch of the Indiramma Housing Scheme starting March 11. The scheme aims to provide housing solutions to the economically disadvantaged segments of society.
Phase-wise Implementation
- The first phase will witness the approval of 3,500 houses in each Assembly constituency, catering to a significant number of beneficiaries.
- Chief Minister Reddy emphasized the importance of ensuring that eligible individuals without homes benefit from the scheme.
Scheme Details
- Individuals owning a plot of land will receive Rs. 5 lakh for constructing a new house on their plot.
- Homeless individuals will be provided with Rs. 5 lakh along with a house plot for construction.
Guidelines and Monitoring
- Strict guidelines will be established for the disbursement of funds at different construction stages to prevent misuse.
- Different house models and designs will be prepared, ensuring basic amenities like a kitchen and toilet.
- Engineering departments under District Collectors will monitor construction progress.
Enhancing Anganwadi Centers
- Surveillance cameras and biometric systems will be installed at Anganwadi centers for improved monitoring.
- Focus will be on providing nutritional food to pregnant women and infants, ensuring it reaches beneficiaries without misuse.
- Efforts will be made to construct permanent buildings for Anganwadi centers currently operating in rented spaces, with exploration of mobile centers under GHMC limits.
