ITC Achieves Global Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) 3.0 Certification in Major Agri Milestone

ITC Limited has become the first company in India to receive the globally recognized Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) 3.0 certification for the wheat and paddy. The recognition highlights the ITC’s commitment to promote the eco-friendly farming practices  which will improve the farmer incomes. It will also strengthening the India’s position in the global agricultural markets via the traceable and responsible sourcing systems.

ITC’s Global Recognition in Sustainable Agriculture

The FSA 3.0 certification marks the important step to aligning the Indian agriculture with international sustainability standards.

It is developed by the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative Platform (SAI Platform) and FSA standards are widely used by the global agri. and food companies to assess the sustainable farming practices.

With this certification ITC have demonstrated that its the sourcing of wheat and paddy meets the global benchmarks for sustainability, traceability and ethical practices.

Large-Scale Implementation Across States

ITC have successfully implemented FSA 3.0 standards on the large scale,

  • It will be covering over the 22,000 acres of farmland.
  • Also involving with the more than 3,500 farmers.
  • Part of the scross 70+ Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in country.
  • Spread across the state of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar

This initiative is part of the ITC’s broader Crop Development Program which is focuses on to the integrating sustainability with farmer empowerment.
