This move aims to connect digitally judicial data across the all levels of the court, from taluka courts to district courts and Supreme courts.

What Is the ‘One Case One Data’ Initiative?

The One Case One Data initiative is the new digital case management framework which is designed to integrate the judicial records into a unified system.

For the first time courts across the different levels of the judicial hierarchy will be digitally connected via a common data access structure.

This means case-related information from,

  • Supreme Court
  • High Courts
  • District Courts
  • Taluka Courts
  • Government departments

can be accessed in the more coordinated and efficient way.

This announcement was made by the Honorable Chief Justice of India Surya Kanta alongside with Justice Joymalya Bagchi.

Why This Reform Matters for India’s Justice Delivery System

As we all know hat India’s judicial system handles the massive volume of pending cases.

One of the biggest operational challenges has been the fragmented case information which spread across multiple court databases.

This often creates delays in,

  • record verification
  • tracking case history
  • inter-court communication
  • document retrieval
  • coordination with departments

This new initiative will directly addresses this problem.

How the Integrated Judicial Data System Will Work

The system is expected to automate the retrieval of judicial information from various source of databases.

Instead of the manual dependency on separate systems the platform will allow the quicker digital verification of case records.

Key expected features includes the,

  • Unified case visibility
  • Real-time verification
  • Departmental connectivity
  • Improved judicial workflow

The broader idea of this innovation is to create the seamless digital judicial ecosystem.
