To strengthen the internal security of the India the induction of the advanced satellite imaging system called Prajna’ was developed. It is developed by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and this system has been handed over to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). This system will enhance the real-time monitoring and decision-making for the security agencies. The system is oowered by artificial intelligence and it is expected to play a important role in surveillance, counter-terrorism operation in the country.
What is ‘Prajna’ and Why It Matters
The Prajna satellite imaging system is the AI-enabled platform designed to provide the real-time visual intelligence to security forces.
It has developed by the DRDO’s Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.
The system will allows the authorities to monitor the critical areas more efficiently and respond quickly to the potential threats.
With the advanced image processing and data analysis capabilities Prajna will improves the situational awareness and helps to the decision-makers to act faster and more accurately.
The system was officially handed over by the Samir V Kamat to Govind Mohan at the formal event in New Delhi.
How AI is Transforming India’s Internal Security
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly becoming the important tool in modern security frameworks. By Prajna India is moving towards the smarter surveillance systems that can,
- Detect the unusual patterns and suspicious movements.
- Also provide the real-time alerts to security agencies.
- Will improve the coordination between different forces.
- And also strengthen counter-terrorism strategies.
This integration of AI with the satellite imaging marks the shift from traditional monitoring methods to the technology-driven security systems.
DRDO’s Role in Strengthening Defense Technology
Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) plays the important role in developing indigenous defense technologies.
From building missiles to advanced surveillance systems DRDO focuses on the reducing dependency on foreign technology and promote the self-reliance in defense.
The development of Prajna indicates the India’s commitment to building the cutting-edge solutions within the country.
ADC-150: Enhancing Indian Navy’s Operational Capabilities
Alongside with the Prajna DRDO has also made the progress to strengthening naval logistics with the Air Droppable Container (ADC-150).
This system has been successfully tested by the Indian Navy and it is designed to deliver the critical supplies to ships at sea.
Key features of ADC-150 include,
- Its capability to carry up to 150 kg payload.
- Air-drop delivery from the aircraft even in tough and extreme conditions.
- Also the quick supply of medical aid, equipment and essential products.
- Will improve the response during emergencies at sea.
