Air Marshal S. Sivakumar, a senior and highly respected officer in the Indian Air Force (IAF), has now taken over as the Air Officer-in-Charge Administration (AOA) at Air Force Headquarters in New Delhi.
Air Marshal Sivakumar has been part of the IAF since June 1990, when he joined in the Administration branch. He has studied a lot and earned an MBA in Human Resource Management from Pondicherry University, and an MPhil in Defence and Strategic Studies from Osmania University.
In his long career of more than 35 years, he has worked in many important roles. He has helped run air bases, looked after air traffic, served in the United Nations Mission in Congo, and taken care of top administrative duties at flying stations. Before this new post, he was working as the Director General (Administration) at the Air Headquarters. He is also a proud recipient of the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM), which is given for outstanding service.
Air Marshal Jasvir Singh Mann Appointed as Senior Air Staff Officer, Western Air Command
On June 1, Air Marshal Jasvir Singh Mann became the Senior Air Staff Officer of the Western Air Command, one of the most important areas in the Indian Air Force. He has had a long and successful career and is known for his leadership and flying skills.
He was trained at the National Defence Academy and became a fighter pilot in the IAF on December 16, 1989. Since then, he has flown more than 3,000 hours on various fighter aircraft. He is a Pilot Attack Instructor and has led a fighter squadron, worked as the Chief Operations Officer at a forward air base, and even served as Air Officer Commanding at a top fighter base.
Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari Becomes Vice Chief of the Air Staff
On May 2, another senior officer, Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari, took over as the Vice Chief of the Air Staff. This is the second-highest post in the Indian Air Force. Before this role, he was leading the South Western Air Command as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief.
He has been honoured for his exceptional service with some of the highest military awards in India. In 2025, he received the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM). Earlier, he had also been awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) in 2022, and the Vayu Sena Medal (VM) back in 2008.
