Asian Games 2026: Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai Win Trap Mixed Team Gold

The gold medal was bagged by the Indian team of Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai in the Asian Games 2026 mixed team trap competition held on September 30. The Indian team recorded a world-record of 34 in the final at Aichi General Shooting Range in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Qatar secured second place with 32, while China grabbed the bronze medal with 23. This gold medal marked the second gold for Neeru in two days since she became the first Indian woman to clinch an Asian Games gold medal in the individual trap event.

India Set New Asian Record with a Score of 34

India was the fourth-best team in the four-team final with 136 scores in the qualification round.

China recorded the top score in the qualification round with a Qualification Games Record of 142.

India had a tough time in the initial stages of the final, but Neeru bounced back well after her poor start. India ended up with 34, which is a new Asian Record in the event.

Two Golds in Two Days for Neeru Dhanda
