B Sairam is the New Chairman and Managing Director of NCL

B Sairam has been appointed as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL). NCL is the Singrauli-based flagship Subsidiary of Coal India Limited. Sairam has assumed the charge for this post.

Experience and Expertise

Sairam has 33 years of dedicated service in the coal sector.
He has a vast reservoir of knowledge and experience in the coal industry.
Sairam is a distinguished graduate mining engineer from NIT Raipur.
He has worked in various domains, including mine operations, planning, logistics, and regulatory affairs.

Academic Pursuits

Sairam has furthered his education with a PGDM in Energy Management from NTPC School of Business Delhi.
He underwent a 15-day immersion program at Nanyang Business School, Singapore, to understand global energy dynamics.
Sairam has studied the Just Energy Transition efforts in Germany and Poland, demonstrating his commitment to sustainable energy practices.

Previous Roles

Before becoming the CMD of NCL, Sairam served as Director (Technical) in Central Coalfields Limited in Ranchi.
He played crucial roles in the company’s organic growth, coal logistics development, and obtaining clearances.
Sairam was instrumental in community development projects and aligning Coal India’s sustainability vision with UN goals during his stint as Executive Director at CIL.
He has spearheaded key divisions such as Employee Welfare, Public Relations, and Legal.
