Delhi Government Launches Mission Kayakalp to Modernise Government Schools

Mission Kayakalp is a programme that seeks to modernise the infrastructure in Delhi’s government schools with the combined goals of creating a safer, cleaner, and more inspiring learning environment for students. The primary focus of the programme is on upgrading school facilities by repairing school buildings, modernising laboratories, improving sanitation, providing access to safe drinking water, and upgrading campus amenities across Delhi.

What is Mission Kayakalp?

Mission Kayakalp is a large scale school infrastructure development initiative that seeks to improve physical and structural conditions so that students can learn and develop to their full potential.

Through comprehensive modernisation efforts, Mission Kayakalp goes beyond the typical scope of maintenance; its focus will be on ensuring schools provide safe, accessible, clean, and high-quality facilities for learning.

According to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the goal of the mission is “to make government schools modern, clean, and inspiring not just places to teach”.
