In a significant move to reinforce fire and electrical safety across India’s healthcare infrastructure, the Union Health Department has launched Fire Safety Week from April 21–25, 2025, in collaboration with all states and Union Territories (UTs), as well as relevant central ministries. Led by Union Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava, the campaign focuses on raising awareness, enhancing preparedness, and ensuring safety for patients, healthcare workers, and visitors through proactive planning, training, and audits.
