India at Asian Games 2026: Day 6 Medal Winners, Tally and Results

India had a great performance in the Asian Games 2026 held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan on Friday, September 25. Six medals were earned by India on Day 6, consisting of one gold, two silver, and three bronze medals. India earned a total of 23 medals so far, which included two gold, nine silver, and 12 bronze medals.

The gold medal was won by Kamaljeet and Suruchi in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, while the silver medals were bagged by Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Niraj Kumar, and Rudrankksh Patil in the men’s 50m rifle 3P team event. Manpreet Kaur, Baranica Elangovan, and the Diya Chitale-Manush Shah combination had bronze medals.

Kamaljeet & Suruchi – Gold Medalists in 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team

The Indian duo Kamaljeet & Suruchi won the gold medal in 10m air pistol mixed team event. Kamaljeet and Suruchi scored 484.6 points in the final to end up above South Korea who won the silver medal with 478.0 points. Iran got the bronze medal with 415.8 points.

Throughout the final, India maintained their lead and eventually won by a difference of 6.6 points.

Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Niraj Kumar & Rudrankksh Patil – Silver Medalists in 50m Rifle 3P Team

The Indian trio of Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Niraj Kumar & Rudrankksh Patil bagged the silver medal in men’s 50m rifle 3 positions team event.

All the three Indian shooters performed well in the final with scores of 589 from Tomar, 588 from Niraj and 585 from Rudrankksh. China emerged winners ahead of India to win the gold medal.

Tomar and Niraj also participated in individual finals and finished fifth and eighth places respectively.

Gulveer Singh – Silver in Men’s 10,000m

Gulveer Singh won India’s second silver medal of the day in athletics after clinching the runner-up position in the men’s 10,000m final race.

Gulveer crossed the line in 28:29.38 seconds and trailed the gold medalist from Bahrain Birhanu Balew by 1.87 seconds. The medal is another addition to India’s medal count in athletics at Day 6 of the Asian Games.

Manpreet Kaur – Bronze in Women’s Shot Put

Manpreet Kaur won the bronze medal in the women’s shot put category. This was yet another medal for India in athletics at Day 6 of the Asian Games.

The medal is an addition to the growing number of medals in India’s tally as athletics proved to be one of the significant sources of medals for India’s Day 6 medal haul.

Baranica Elangovan – Bronze in Women’s Pole Vault

Baranica Elangovan made history by clinching the bronze medal in the women’s pole vault. She cleared 4.15m, with this she became the first Indian athlete to clinch a medal in the women’s pole vault at the Asian Games.

Misaki Morota from Japan won the gold medal with a jump of 4.55m, while Chunge Niu from China won the silver with 4.50m. The bronze medalists were Baranica Elangovan and Polina Ivanova from Kazakhstan.

Diya Chitale & Manush Shah – Bronze in Mixed Doubles Table Tennis

Diya Chitale and Manush Shah won the bronze medal in the mixed doubles table tennis after qualifying for the semifinals.

The Indian pair lost in the semifinals to the Chinese duo of Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha.

Multiple Victories for India in Team Events

Indian women’s hockey team won 3-1 against Japan to remain undefeated in Pool A game. Lalremsiami, Ishika and Navneet were the scorers for India, whereas Shiho Kobayakawa scored the only goal for Japan. India recorded its fourth successive victory and also qualified for the semifinals.

Both the kabaddi teams of India also made it to the finals to compete for gold medals. The women’s team beat Nepal 48-24 and the men’s team defeated Thailand by an impressive scoreline of 66-28.

In squash, Anahat Singh beat her compatriot Tanvi Sharma 3-0 to qualify for the semifinals of women’s singles. Joshana Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar also made it to the semifinals of mixed doubles category.

• Satwiksairaj Rankireddy & Chirag Shetty: The men’s doubles defending badminton champions lost their first match against the Thais, Pakkapon Teeraratsakul and Peeretchai Sukphun.
• Dhruv Kapila & Tanisha Crasto: They won against world No. 10 pairing Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai from Malaysia by winning 22-20, 24-22.
• Treesa Jolly & Gayatri Gopichand: They beat Hong Kong pairing Lok Lok Liu and Hiu Yan Tsang by winning 21-16, 16-21, 21-16.
• Unnati Hooda: Won 21-9, 21-10 against South Korean Yu Mi Song in women’s singles.
• Sachin: Won 4-1 against Mohammad Abu Jajeh and qualified for the men’s 60kg quarterfinals.
• Preeti: Lost to North Korea’s Pang Chol Mi 30-27 in women’s 54kg Round of 16.
• Manush Shah: Beat Iran’s Benyamin Faraji 4-0 in men’s singles table tennis and qualified.
• Yashaswini Ghorpade: Beaten Syria’s Hend Zaza 4-1 in women’s singles.
• Harmeet Desai & Sathiyan Gnanasekaran: Beaten Indonesia’s Affan Pratama and Muhammad Negara 3-2 in men’s doubles.
• Sreeja Akula & Syndrela Das: Lost 0-3 to China’s Kuai Man and Wang Manyu in women’s doubles.
• Manav Thakkar & Manush Shah: Lost to Tomokazu Harimoto and Hiroto Shinozuka in men’s doubles.
• Rishabh Das: Ended up 4th in the men’s 200m backstroke final, whereas Utkarsh Patil was also participating in the final.
• Dhanush Suresh: Ended up 21st in the men’s 50m breaststroke event and did not get qualified for the finals.
• Aneesh Sunil and Dhakshan Shashikumar: Did not make the cut in the men’s 400m freestyle heats.
• Nirupama Devi: Completed the women’s weightlifting event with a total weight lifted of 217kg including 93kg in snatch and 124kg in clean and jerk.
• Aditya, Hemash Singh, Tejas Patil and Sachin: Lost against Hong Kong in the men’s team foil Round of 16.
• Anupriya, Mitva Chaudhari, Tanishka Khatri and Yashkeerat Kaur: Lost against Uzbekistan in the women’s team epee Round of 16.
• Prohit Baroi & Prasanna Kumar: Finished fifth in the men’s kayak double 500m semifinals and went on to play in Final B.
• Megha Pradeep & Neha Leichonbam: Ended up fourth in the canoe double 500m semifinals and got knocked out.
