Indian Railways and the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) have partnered to promote the ‘One India-One Ticket’ initiative, aiming to streamline travel for passengers using both mainline railway services and Namo Bharat trains. This collaboration will enable a unified booking system, allowing commuters to seamlessly travel between Indian Railways and RRTS services.
Booking Process for RRTS Tickets on IRCTC
After purchasing an IRCTC train e-ticket, passengers can book Namo Bharat train tickets for up to eight travelers in a single transaction. RRTS ticket booking options will appear on the PNR confirmation page and within the user’s booking history. Each RRTS ticket will feature a unique QR code valid for four days, including the day before the journey, the journey date, and two subsequent days. The Namo Bharat ticket will also come with a separate QR code for a smooth travel experience.
Online Booking and Cancellation
Tickets can be booked up to 120 days in advance, and upon successful booking, users will receive confirmation via SMS and email, including QR code details. If users need to cancel, they will receive a full refund for the RRTS fare, although the IRCTC convenience fee, payment gateway charges, and taxes will be non-refundable. Access to the journey is facilitated through QR code scanning at station entry gates using the electronic reservation slip (ERS) or mobile application.
Booking RRTS Tickets via IRCTC
RRTS tickets can be booked through the IRCTC platform. If an RRTS station is available near the departure point, passengers will be prompted to book an RRTS ticket after purchasing their train ticket. If they initially decline, they can later return to their booking history to book the RRTS ticket. Additionally, NCRTC is considering offering one-day to three-day unlimited travel passes to promote tourism in the Delhi NCR region.
