The establishment of the Bagchi Sri Shankara Cancer Centre is the result of a significant collaboration between the Odisha government and the renowned Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Bengaluru. With an investment of Rs 410 crore, this partnership aims to replicate the Bengaluru centre’s success in providing top-notch care and research in the field of oncology.
State-of-the-Art Facilities and Services
BSCCRI is equipped with 750 beds, addressing a critical gap in the availability of specialized cancer care beds in the region. The centre boasts advanced facilities for radiotherapy and chemotherapy, capable of treating 300 and 150 patients daily, respectively. This capacity ensures that a significant number of patients can receive life-saving treatments without the delays that often compromise cancer care outcomes.
