The Gujarat State Police has traced 1,470 missing persons during a month long statewide campaign called Operation Milap. It was launched on 7th of May, 2026 and the special drive focused on locating missing individuals, reuniting the with their families and strengthen the public trust in law enforcement. This operation used the combination of the technical intelligence, field investigations and the interstate coordination solve the recent and long-pending cases.

Operation Milap was the special statewide initiative launched by the Gujarat Police to review and investigate the pending missing persons cases.

- 234 were minor girls.
- 42 were minor boys.
Police officials has noted that the adolescent girls who aged between 14-17 years were among the most vulnerable groups.
