The Airtel Payments Bank has partnered with Bharati AXA General Insurance to launch a COVID-19 insurance policy. The Bharti AXA Group Health Assure Policy has rolled out a policy with a fixed cover offering 100% sum insured as a lump sum, if the policy holder is diagnosed positive or gets quarantined in a government hospital or military facility/establishment. The insurance plan can be purchased directly from the banking section of the ‘Airtel Thanks App’ or by visiting the nearest active banking point-of-sales (POS) of Airtel Payments Bank at a price of Rs 499 for fixed sum insured of Rs 25,000.

Along with above insurance plan, the two entities have also launched jointly a group health cover for COVID-19 which provides per day fixed allowance on hospitalization with Enhanced ICU Cash.

Both of the above insurance products are currently available for savings bank account customers of Airtel Payments Bank who are not suffering from COVID-19 or its symptoms. The policy can be purchased without any pre-medical check-up.

Chhattisgarh Police create app ‘Rakhsa Sarv’ for quarantined people

The Chhattisgarh police developed the app ‘Rakhsa Sarv’, with the help of Noida-based startup Mobcoder, which enables them to track the quarantined people through Google Map. The purpose of launching the app is that a large number of people are kept in-home quarantine, and so it is not possible to keep each one under surveillance on a regular basis.

Details of the home-quarantined people are being fed in the app’s dashboard. The quarantined person will have to upload a selfie in the app every hour which will specify his/her location. Police teams have started installing the application in the phones of those kept under home quarantine and so far, over 50 per cent of such people have been covered.

A similar mobile app has been developed by the Mohali Police in Punjab named ‘COVID Control’ to keep an eye on home quarantined people to ensure quarantine protocols are being followed properly.
