President of India Confers National Florence Nightingale Awards 2025 to Exemplary Nursing Professionals

In a heartfelt ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, conferred the National Florence Nightingale Awards 2025 on 15 outstanding nursing professionals from across the country. These awards, which recognize the unwavering dedication, compassion, and service of nurses, are among the highest national honours for the nursing and midwifery profession in India.

Gracing the ceremony were Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, along with Union Ministers of State, Shri Prataprao Jadhav and Smt. Anupriya Patel. About the National Florence Nightingale Awards

Instituted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the National Florence Nightingale Award honors Registered Nurses, Midwives, Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), and Lady Health Visitors (LHVs) serving in both the public and voluntary sectors. These awards aim to recognize professionals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to patient care, public health delivery, and community welfare.

Each award includes:

A Certificate of Merit
A cash prize of ₹1,00,000
A medal, symbolizing the nation’s gratitude for the noble and selfless service of the nursing community

Establishment of 157 Nursing Colleges: These institutions are being co-located with existing medical colleges, aimed at creating a skilled, qualified, and future-ready nursing workforce.
