About B R Ambedkar
Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was born on 14th April 1891. He was an Indian jurist, economist, social reformer, and political leader who headed the committee drafting the Constitution of India. In 1990, he was awarded Bharat Ratna Award. While practicing law in the Bombay High court, he promoted education to untouchables and tried to uplift them. One of the first steps to that was establishing the Central Institution Bahishkrit Hitakarini Sabha. It was intended to promote education, socio-economic improvement, and the welfare of Dalits.
