‘Yuva Nidhi’ Scheme Launched For Jobless Youth In Shivamogga, Karnataka

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah recently unveiled the fifth and final poll guarantee of the Congress party, named the ‘Yuva Nidhi’ scheme. Launched at Freedom Park in Shivamogga, this initiative aims to provide unemployment assistance to graduates and diploma holders who completed their degrees during the academic year 2022-23.

Financial Support for Unemployed Graduates and Diploma Holders

Under the scheme, the government has committed to providing Rs 3,000 per month to degree holders and Rs 1,500 per month to diploma holders who have been unable to secure employment in the last six months and are not pursuing higher studies.

Cheque Distribution Ceremony

During the launch event, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah personally issued cheques to unemployed graduates who had traveled from various parts of the state. This symbolic gesture aimed to emphasize the government’s commitment to supporting the youth in the state.

Domicile Requirement

Sharanaprakash Patil, the minister responsible for implementing the ‘Yuva Nidhi’ scheme, clarified that the assistance is applicable exclusively to graduates and diploma holders whose domicile is Karnataka. This condition ensures that the benefits of the scheme are directed towards the state’s residents.
