India and New Zealand have upgraded their relationship into a Strategic Partnership by launching an ambitious Roadmap for 2030 and signing of total 10 agreements and MoUs for cooperation in various areas, such as defence, trade, maritime security, disaster management, agriculture, tourism, sports, culture, and scientific research. The announcement made during Honorable PM Modi’s official visit to the New Zealand, it signifies the commitment of both countries to bolster trade and cultural relations.
Strategic Partnership between New Zealand and India: A New Phase
The two countries have officially taken the next steps by forming the India-New Zealand Strategic Partnership.
Both the nations now in the process of finalizing the Strategic Partnership Roadmap to 2030, which has outlined activities in various critical areas, such as,

- Arrangement concerning the provision of Mutual Logistics Support between the Indian Navy and the New Zealand Defence Force
- Arrangement on establishing a Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism between India and New Zealand
- Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Disaster Management Authority of India and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) of New Zealand
- Memorandum of Cooperation in the fields of Animal Husbandry and Dairying between the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying of India and the Ministry of Primary Industries of New Zealand
