Government Launches PM-AJAY Portal for Real-Time Monitoring of SC Welfare Schemes

Government of India has launched the PM-AJAY portal and AJAY mobile app to improve the implementation of the welfare schemes under the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY). This initiative aims to enhance the transparency, accountability and real time monitoring of socio economic development program which are targeted at the Scheduled Castes (SCs).

What is PM-AJAY?

PM-AJAY (Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana) is the flagship welfare scheme of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment focused on to the uplifting Scheduled Caste communities through targeted socio economic interventions.

The scheme seeks to improve the livelihoods, infrastructure, education and overall quality of life for marginalized communities.

This newly launched digital tools are designed to make the scheme implementation faster, transparent and more efficient.

  • Also covers the 40 lakh+ beneficiaries

The platform replaces the fragmented and paper based systems with the integrated digital governance.

Adarsh Gram Component

One of the important transformations under the portal is the digitization of the Adarsh Gram component.

Earlier, the village development planning heavily relied on to the paperwork.

Now, digital planning enables the,

  • Creation of the Village Development Plans (VDPs)
  • Monitoring via 50 socio-economic indicators
  • Tracking across the 10 developmental domains
  • Automated milestone approvals
  • Real-time progress updates

Grants in Aid (GIA) Component

The portal also strengthens the the Grants-in-Aid (GIA) component.
