Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Bargarh district of the Indian state of Odisha. It covers a large area of 346.91 square kilometers. It is very close to the Hirakud Dam near Sambalpur city, which makes the area rich in water and greenery.
Geography of the Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary
The sanctuary is surrounded by the Hirakud Reservoir on its north and east sides. This special location supports both land and water wildlife, making it unique. During winter, many migratory birds come here. The area also has over 250 plant species, some of which are used in medicine and traditional healing.
