Jaspal Rana was India’s one of the most decorated pistol shooters. He was born on 28 June 1976 in Uttarkashi and he was specialized in the 25m Centre Fire Pistol, 25m Standard Pistol, and 10m Air Pistol events.

He was known for his exceptional accuracy and mental toughness, Rana emerged as the shooting prodigy during his teenage years.

He went on to become India’s one of the most successful athletes in the international competitions and later contributed significantly as the coach.

Jaspal Rana was born into the family which is deeply connected with sports and public service. His father, Narayan Singh Rana a former Indo-Tibetan Border Police officer and war veteran and introduced him to shooting at such young age.
