The government announced Justice Bahri’s new role on February 2, 2024. She takes over from the previous Chief Justice, Vipin Sanghi, who retired. Coming from a Family of Lawyers
Justice Bahri was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, into a family famous for being great lawyers. She went to Carmel Convent School, studied Economics in Chandigarh, and then studied law at Punjab University. This background helped her become a strong lawyer.

She became a lawyer in 1986 and worked her way up to some big roles in Haryana before becoming a judge in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 2010. Her career shows she’s very good at what she does.
