Moushumi Basu Takes Over as New President of JNU Teachers Association

The Jawaharlal Nehru University Teachers Association (JNUTA) has appointed a new team of office-bearers for the term of 2024-2025, according to a statement released. Moushumi Basu, a professor at the School of International Studies, has been appointed as the next JNUTA president.

Vice-Presidents

The teachers’ body has appointed Meenakshi Sundriyal and Pradeep K Shinde as vice-presidents of JNUTA.

Secretary and Vice-Secretaries

Syed Akhtar Husain has been appointed as the secretary, while Vikas Bajpai and Kaushal Kishore Chandel have been appointed as vice-secretaries of JNUTA.

Treasurer

Vikas Rawal will serve as the treasurer of the JNU Teachers Association, according to the statement.

The appointment of the new team of office-bearers marks a fresh chapter for JNUTA, as they prepare to lead the teachers’ association and address the needs and concerns of the faculty members at Jawaharlal Nehru University.

With a diverse group of experienced academics taking up key roles, the JNU Teachers Association is poised to continue its efforts in advocating for the rights and welfare of the teaching community at one of India’s premier universities.
