National Food Safety & Standards Training Centre Inaugurated by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya
During the inauguration of the National Training Centre for Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya stated the importance of citizens’ health in the country’s development. He emphasized the need for Swasth Nagrik to create a Swastha Rashtra, leading to a Samruddha Rashtra, and urged citizens to adopt India’s traditional food habits and way of life for wellness and preventive healthcare.

Dr. Mandaviya praised India’s rich heritage of health and wellness, highlighting the value of good quality nutritious food to keep diseases at bay. He also discussed the challenge of food adulteration in the country and emphasized the importance of quality standards for food-following to create healthy citizens and stop malpractices.

- Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, Minister of State (HFW), spoke of FSSAI’s responsibility in setting food standards for the country that touches everyone’s life, while Dr. Mandaviya stressed the importance of ensuring quality standards for food are followed in the country.
- The National Training Centre of the FSSAI in Ghaziabad provides various training programs for individuals involved in food businesses, including food business operators, employees, Food Safety Officers, and designated officers.
- In addition, an e-learning app, Food Safety and Certification (FoSTaC), was launched to provide training modules about food safety guidelines for street vendors.
- Finally, Dr. Mandaviya released two books developed by FSSAI, Millets (Shree Anna) Recipes and Healthy Gut, Healthy You, highlighting the rich heritage of health and wellness in India.
