Star Sports, which is owned by The Walt Disney Company India, has appointed Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as its brand ambassador. This is a significant step for the brand as it seeks to tap into Singh’s immense popularity and love for sports to reach a wider and more diverse audience that may not have previously engaged deeply with sports. Singh will act as the “sutradhaar” or narrator for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which the company is branding as the “Incredible League”. He will also participate in creating content for the IPL, which is scheduled to begin on March 31st.

In addition to his role as the brand ambassador for Star Sports, Ranveer Singh will also be involved in campaigns for other sporting events that will be broadcast on the network. These events include the World Test Championship Final, Premier League, Pro Kabaddi, Asia Cup, and ICC Cricket World Cup.

Recently, Singh was named the most valuable celebrity for endorsements in 2022, according to a report by Kroll, a corporate investigation and risk consulting firm. This puts him ahead of Indian cricket player Virat Kohli, who held the title in previous years. Singh’s brand value has increased to $181.7 million, while Kohli’s has fallen to $179.6 million. Kohli’s brand value has declined for two years in a row, especially after he resigned from his position as captain of the Indian men’s cricket team. In 2020, Kohli’s brand value was $237.7 million, which fell by 21% in 2021 to $185.7 million.
