Tamil Nadu Launches ‘Neengal Nalama’ Scheme to Review Implementation of Welfare Programs

The Tamil Nadu government has launched the ‘Neengal Nalama’ (Are you fine?) scheme, a beneficiary outreach program aimed at reviewing the implementation of flagship schemes and addressing the grievances of the public. The initiative was kickstarted by Minister of Rural Development I. Periyasamy, with Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, other ministers, senior officials, and district collectors reaching out to beneficiaries across the state.

Direct Interaction with Beneficiaries

Under the ‘Neengal Nalama’ scheme, people will be directly contacted by the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Department Heads, Department Secretaries, and District Collectors to inquire about their level of benefit and to identify any bottlenecks related to various government schemes.

Web Portal for Public Feedback

As part of the scheme, the Chief Minister launched a web portal where beneficiaries can express their opinions and provide feedback on the welfare projects of the Tamil Nadu government. This initiative aims to improve government services by eliciting views from beneficiaries through direct interaction with ministers, senior officials, and district collectors.

Flagship Programs and Beneficiaries

Some of the recent flagship programs of the Tamil Nadu government include:

  1. Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam: Supporting 1.15 crore women with a monthly cash benefit of Rs. 1,000.

  3. Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam: Providing health services at the doorstep to more than a crore people.

Improving Service Delivery

Despite various political challenges, the state has reiterated its commitment to uplifting every family in Tamil Nadu through this initiative.

The ‘Neengal Nalama’ scheme is a significant step towards ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective implementation of welfare programs in Tamil Nadu.
