This scheme gives farmers a subsidy of about 60% of the amount incurred by them to install solar fencing, and they will also be able to get help to the tune of ₹ 1.43 lakhs per km.

What is UP Khet Suraksha Yojana 2026?

UP Khet Suraksha Yojana is a scheme meant to improve the welfare of the farmers in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

It also aims to promote the use of electric fencing powered by solar energy to protect the crops against pests, which include stray animals, birds, and domestic cattle.

The Department of Agriculture in Uttar Pradesh also implements UP Khet Suraksha Yojana to give support to farmers via subsidies for the installation of solar fencing.

Advantages of UP Khet Suraksha Yojana

Farmers facing continuous losses in their crops because of the wild animals can avail the several benefits from the scheme.

Once it get approved, farmers are entitled to receive upto 60% reimbursement on the costs incurred in installing solar fencing, with the maximum subsidy amounting to ₹1.43 lakh per km.

In some cases, there is an enhancement in the subsidy to around 70%, especially for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), small, and marginal farmers.

The solar fencing system serves as the safety wall against nilgai, stray cattle, wild boar, and other creatures damaging crops, thus protecting farmers from crop loss and promoting the utilization of renewable energy.

As per the official records, this scheme has benefited more than 2 lakh farmers since its inception.

Eligibility Criteria

Farmers are required to fulfill the following eligibility conditions,

  • Must be permanently domiciled in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Must own or lease at least 0.5 hectares of the agricultural land.
  • Must be mentioned in the Khatauni.
  • A certificate regarding crop loss because of the stray or wild animals needs to be produced.
  • Should have a bank account linked to the Aadhaar for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
  • Farmers from all backgrounds are eligible for the scheme, with SC/STs receiving a higher subsidy.

  • Khatauni (Land Record)
  • Certificate of Uttar Pradesh Residency
  • Aadhaar-linked Bank Account
  • Photograph for the Passport
  • Caste Certificate for SC/ST candidates who desire extra support

Steps to Apply for UP Khet Suraksha Yojana Online

To apply for this scheme online, farmers need to go on the official Agriculture Department website and just follow these simple steps,

  1. Log in to the official Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Department Portal.
  2. If applicant not registered, so first complete the Kisan registration.
  3. Choose either Khet Suraksha Yojana or get subsidies for the Solar Fencing.
  4. Select the tehsil, district, and village.
  5. Provide information such as the Aadhaar number, land records information, bank account, and farming details.
  6. Upload all the required documents.
  7. Submit the application and keep the Token/Application Number for the future use.
  8. Wait for the verification process from the District Agriculture Officer.
  9. Purchase and install the solar fence which made by approved vendor after the approval of your application.
