The unfortunate mining tragedy has struck the China after a deadly coal mine explosion in the Shanxi province which have killed at least 90 people according to the state’s media reports. The blast was occurred at Liushenyu Coal Mine and trigerred the large-scale emergency rescue operation involving hundreds of personnel.
Deadly Coal Mine Explosion in China
A major gas explosion occurred at the Liushenyu Coal Mine in the northern China.
The mine is operated by the Tongzhou Group.
This incident was took place in Shanxi Province which is China’s the major coal-producing region.
As per the reports, at least 90 people have died.
More than 100 injured workers have reportedly been taken to the hospitals and the rescue operations are still underway.
The final death toll could change after some time.
When Did the Explosion Happen?
The explosion reportedly took place on the Friday evening at 7:29 PM local time.
At the time of the incident, approximately 247 workers were said to be on duty inside the mine.
That had significantly increased the scale of the emergency response.
The exact cause of this blast still remains under investigation.
Massive Rescue Operation Underway
China has launched the major rescue effort immediately after the disaster.
More than 345 emergency personnel from the multiple rescue teams have reportedly been deployed.
