Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has unveiled the state’s first drinking water treatment project using ozone in Dehra of Kangra district. The government has provided ₹46 crore for this project to improve the quality of drinking water available to the people. This project uses ozone gas to clean the water while also enhancing its taste. While speaking from Baddal Thor of the Dehra assembly constituency, Sukhu added that this programme would also be implemented in other parts of the state.
How Will the Ozone Water Project Work?
This Dehra project would use ozone gas for the disinfection of water. Ozone treatment is being done for making the drinking water clean and improving its taste.
It is one of the initiatives taken by the state government for the improvement of drinking water infrastructure. It is going to be extended to other places after completion of this project in Dehra.
Other Announcements by Himachal CM
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also spoke about other government initiatives.
In this regard, Himachal has initiated the process of giving benefits of Mukhyamantri Ka Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar Yojana. Surveys have been started in panchayats, and the scheme will be launched from October 2. Under the scheme, financially poor families will be given financial support and 300 units of electricity will also be provided for free.
CM also made the citizens aware about the Rajiv Gandhi Van Samvardhan Yojana in which youth and women groups are taking part for planting and nurturing forests. The self-help groups get an amount of ₹1.20 lakh with plantation survival incentives.
Plans to Improve Dehra
The administration has also unveiled strategies that concentrate on local developments, education and veterinary services.
Sukhu mentioned that Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools had been introduced in Himachal Pradesh. Also, more schools are planned to be opened in order to ensure better education delivery. He has also set up a veterinary hospital at Baddal Thor for better veterinary services.
The Chief Minister reassured the locals of no lack of funds for development activities in Dehra and that proper funding for the constituency is being ensured.
