IICA Sets Foot in Northeast with First Regional Campus in Shillong

In a major step towards inclusive growth and regional empowerment, the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, is establishing its first regional campus in New Shillong Township, Meghalaya. Backed by ₹100.95 crore under the PM-DevINE (Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East) scheme, the new campus is envisioned as a hub for specialized training, research, and policy advisory in critical areas such as corporate governance, ESG, CSR, and insolvency. This strategic initiative reflects India’s continued commitment to integrating the North East into the national development narrative.

Why in News?

On June 3, 2025, IICA formally acquired 5 acres of land in Shillong, marking the establishment of its first regional campus outside Delhi. The project is funded under the PM-DevINE scheme, aimed at accelerating growth in the North-East region. It aligns with the government’s vision of decentralization, empowering the region as a knowledge and policy hub.
