Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme Launched By MNRE Minister

India is taking strategic steps to position itself as a global hub for green hydrogen production. As part of this vision, MNRE conducted a national-level workshop to empower Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and integrate them into the green hydrogen supply chain. A major milestone at the event was the launch of India’s Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme (GHCI)—a move aimed at ensuring transparency, traceability, and market trust in green hydrogen.

Why in the News?

On 29th April 2025, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) organized a National Workshop on “Opportunities for MSMEs in the Green Hydrogen Supply Chain” in New Delhi, where Union Minister Pralhad Joshi launched the Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme of India (GHCI).
