National Commission for Protection of Child Rights Celebrates 19th Foundation Day

On March 12, 2024, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) celebrated its 19th Foundation Day at the Jacaranda Hall, Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi. To mark this special occasion, the Commission invited children from different parts of the country to acknowledge their efforts and participation in the Commission’s Pariksha Parv campaign.

Collaboration with State Commissions

Chairpersons and Members from all the State Commissions for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCRs) were also invited to attend the event. During the foundation day program, the various State Commissions shared their good practices, experiences, and highlighted the new initiatives they have taken in their respective states.

Pariksha Parv Campaign: Encouraging Children’s Voices

One of the primary activities planned under Pariksha Parv 6.0 was to encourage children to express their experiences, patterns, and go-to routines for dealing with exam stress and anxiety through short video messages. The Chairperson of NCPCR shared that the selected clips and messages were showcased on the Commission’s social media platforms after obtaining parental consent.

Overwhelming Participation from Children

The Commission received an overwhelming response, with more than 6,500 videos submitted by children from across India. Children and their parents who enthusiastically participated in Pariksha Parv 6.0 attended the function and received certificates of appreciation for their involvement.

Recognizing Children’s Efforts

By inviting children from different parts of the country and acknowledging their efforts and participation in the Pariksha Parv campaign, the NCPCR celebrated not only its foundation day but also the voices and experiences of children. This initiative highlights the Commission’s commitment to promoting and protecting the rights of children, including their right to education and mental well-being.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

The presence of Chairpersons and Members from all the State Commissions for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCRs) facilitated collaboration and knowledge sharing among the various stakeholders involved in child rights protection. This collective effort aims to strengthen the child rights protection framework across the country and address the challenges faced by children more effectively.

The 19th Foundation Day celebration of the NCPCR served as a platform to recognize the participation and efforts of children, promote collaboration among child rights organizations, and renew the commitment to safeguarding the rights and well-being of children in India.
