Among the standout highlights was the Odisha Pavilion, which not only captivated visitors from the outset but also clinched the prestigious gold medal for “Excellence in Display” in the State Pavilion category.
Odisha Pavilion’s Success:
The Odisha Pavilion, a focal point since the inception of the trade fair, maintained its silver streak by securing the coveted gold medal. The Director of Information and Public Relations Dept, Saroj Kumar Samal, received the award on behalf of Odisha. The Pavilion, under the direction of Suryaranjan Mohanty and Additional Director Santosh Das, showcased the State’s unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment and their role in economic prosperity. It featured a diverse array of tribal art, artifacts, and products.
Concept and Representation:
Conceptualized around Odisha’s ancient maritime trade culture, the Pavilion, with its 24 stalls encompassing renowned handloom outlets and government departments, promoted the rich cultural heritage, handicrafts, and handlooms of the state. A central focus was ensuring robust representation for tribal groups, particularly highlighting the work of women artisans in line with the Mission Shakti initiative. The maritime boat at the center complemented all 24 stalls seamlessly.
IITF-2023, commenced on November 14 with the theme “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” concluded successfully this Monday. Drawing significant crowds, the fair saw participation from 28 states and 8 union territories, along with corporations from India and several overseas countries such as Afghanistan, Vietnam, Tunisia, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Iran, Bangladesh, Oman, Egypt, Nepal, Thailand, and the UAE. These participants exhibited diverse products and services across various fields.
