The Flag is a monument to the many Chenab Region troops who have given their lives in order to preserve the unity and integrity of the country. He also paid tribute to the surviving family members of fallen warriors on this occasion. The raising of the nation’s flag on a 100-foot pole, the first of its type in the Doda district, is a moment of pride for all of the area’s citizens, not just the Army. Locals, particularly students and Veer Naris (war widows), who had flocked to the momentous occasion in large numbers, expressed gratitude to the Army for including them in the historic moment.
