Honduras Opens Embassy in Delhi: A Boost to India-Central America Ties

In a landmark move symbolizing deepening diplomatic relations, Honduras officially inaugurated its embassy in New Delhi on May 16, 2025. This step is expected to catalyze stronger bilateral cooperation across various sectors including trade, development, technology, and climate resilience. Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar welcomed his Honduran counterpart Eduardo Enrique Reina Garcia, marking a milestone in India’s strategic outreach to Central America.

The Government of Honduras has formally opened its Embassy in New Delhi, a significant development in strengthening its relationship with India. The inauguration is being viewed as a sign of enhanced collaboration in trade, development assistance, technology exchange, and regional diplomacy.
