RN Ravi has been sworn in as the 22nd Governor of West Bengal. The swearing-in ceremony took place on March 12 2026 at the Lok Bhavan in Kolkata. He was the Former of Indian Police Services. The appointment of RN Ravi as the Governor of West Bengal came after the resignation of C. V. Ananda Bose.
Bose who stepped down from the position on March 5 2026.
After the resignation the central government appointed RN Ravi to take charge of the constitutional office.
His swearing-in officially marks the beginning of his tenure as the 22nd Governor of West Bengal.
RN Ravi’s Previous Roles as Governor
Before becoming the Governor of West Bengal the RN Ravi had served in several important constitutional positions.
He previously held the role of governor in Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tamil Nadu.
